Crokes' invite to young athletes

Training for youngster from seven years upwards for the coming athletics season commences next Tuesday evening at the Thurles Crokes training grounds at Racecourse Road at 7pm and will continue weekly on Tuesday and Wed. nights at that time.

This is an ideal opportunity for youngsters to sample athletics in a fun-atmosphere, and those who wish are guaranteed plenty of competition in the months ahead. In winter times the grounds are lit and there is ample adult supervision.

With the range of distances and activities in athletics, there is room for everyone to find his or her own level with no pressure to reach particular standards.

A noticeble feature in recent years has been the number of adults who avail of the facility to take exercise and they are very welcome, whether they are walking or jogging or both. Parents who bring their children to training can make the most of the situation to take some exercise themselves.
